Saw the Northern lights tonight! It was pink, like a huge chrysanthemum or zinnia or aster filling the sky, transparent so the stars shone through it, moving like smoke, greenish at the edges. The entire sky was lit and the center of the aurora seemed to be right over our house. It was like sunset, sunrise, fireworks all at once. Joyful feeling! John and I arrived home at about the same time, excited to the point of hysteria, each eager to be with the other and see it together. We danced and hugged and kissed and went out to the field to stare. I have a crick in my neck.
