Holy napalm, Batman
Monster tantrum that began when I removed Yosi from the car when we got home. I let him roar for a while, then took him upstairs and changed his diaper, administered desitin, gas drops, tooth gel, tylenol. He fought and raged and demanded to be on the changing table. Sat with him with my earplugs in while he flipped right the fuck out for half an hour. Tried to pet him, hold his hand. I think he appreciated that but he fought me away each time. He wanted to be lying on his back on the changing table, not in the crib, not on the floor, not in my arms. He must be in some awful discomfort. Then it passed and he sat up, pulled his socks off and giggled. Is now relatively calm (still hiccuping) and eating some more breakfast. W-o-w.

awe, honey, that's momhood! oiuy, i can remember some of the days like that one you describe...fortunately only one of mine was a screamer for a while, it was when he was having colic. i would gently rub the little fatty pad on top of his hands and he would calm down after a while! i can remember rubbing his dear, sweet soft skin. oh, what i would give for those days back again. yes, even the screaming would be welcomed. now if it went on for days, i might have to rethink that, but i'd welcome it i think! my dear sweet boys are now men, 24 and 25. i lost a daughter before birth so the ones i have are all the more precious. i commend you for taking life with such ease, with such grace and for loving your beloved's the way you do. i am enjoying reading your blog and your swap-bot profile. shelley
My dear, this just happened to me last week. I think they call it "menopause."
